Following the participation of the Global Energy Districts Programme (GEDP) in the Viet Nam Industrial Park Development Forum, VnEconomy published an article highlighting UNIDO’s role in advancing the country’s green transition and sustainable industrial development. The publication featured GEDP as one of the initiatives promoting new approaches to energy use in urban and industrial environments.
The article presented the GEDP model, which enables the integrated analysis and optimization of the energy needs and sources of multiple buildings, production facilities, or industrial areas, rather than addressing them individually. This approach facilitates the centralized supply of cooling, heating, and energy, while enabling the integration of renewable energy, industrial waste heat recovery, and more efficient use of resources.
GEDP’s presence in VnEconomy contributes to raising awareness of a new approach to the energy transition of cities and industrial parks in Viet Nam, where energy efficiency, clean energy, and competitiveness can advance hand in hand. Through this effort, the programme reaffirms its commitment to developing more sustainable, resilient, and low-carbon energy solutions.
