In Viet Nam, the Global Energy Districts Programme (GEDP) began identifying opportunities in 2024 with the purpose of supporting sustainable construction, sustainable urban growth, and the country’s energy transition.
The program aims to promote innovative cooling, heating, and energy efficiency solutions for urban and industrial sectors, aligning with national goals for sustainable construction, decarbonization, and energy transition.
Among the progress achieved are the promotion of the initiative with public and private stakeholders, the identification of opportunities for future energy districts, and collaboration with international initiatives focused on clean energy and sustainable urban development.
Thanks to its rapid economic and industrial growth, Viet Nam is becoming a strategic setting for advancing resilient and low-carbon energy models in Southeast Asia.
