Thanks to the work and progress achieved through the Energy Districts Program developed in Colombia over the past 12 years, UNIDO and SECO have decided to expand the scope of this initiative to reach more regions and countries.

The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), through the Global Energy Districts Programme (GEDP), and the Latin American and Caribbean Energy Organization (OLACDE) have signed a cooperation framework to promote the development of energy districts in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Following the participation of the Global Energy Districts Programme (GEDP) in the Viet Nam Industrial Park Development Forum, VnEconomy published an article highlighting UNIDO’s role in advancing the country’s green transition and sustainable industrial development.

E2 Energía Eficiente and Hotel Las Américas in Cartagena have been selected as the winners of the national call to develop the country’s first demonstration project integrating renewable energy into an Energy District.
